Corn flakes were first introduced to the world in the late 19th century. They were invented by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg and his brother Will Keith Kellogg as a part of their work at the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan, USA.

However, it wasn't until 1906 that Will Keith Kellogg founded the Kellogg Company and began commercially marketing corn flakes to the public. So, to answer your question, corn flakes came out in 1906.

  1. I used all drumsticks and mine took a little longer than an hour.

  2. great recipe for a picnic and paired with an orange crush soda.

  3. Ac’cent is still made and can be purchased at Walmart.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 broiler - fryer chicken, cut into serving pieces

  • 1 cup Kellogg's corn flakes - crumbs

  • 1 teaspoon accent

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk

  • heavy duty Reynolds foil wrap

  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine Kellogg's corn flake crumbs accent, salt and pepper

  2. Dip chicken in evaporated milk - then into Kellogg corn flake crumbs

  3. Line a shallow baking pan with heavy duty Reynolds foil wrap place chicken pieces, skin side up in foil-lined pan do not crowd

  4. Bake at 350 f about 1 hour or until tender. If less crisp is desired lay a piece of Reynolds foil wrap lightly over chicken. No need to turn the chicken
