Jello Ice Cream Pie
An easy vintage Jello ice cream pie dessert recipe!
Inspired by the 1959 vintage Jello Ice Cream Pie recipe.
The original recipe says to use the pudding flavor of your choice, I found an Oreo cookie instant pudding and that’s when I had the idea for a cookies and cream flavored ice cream pie.
This recipe has caught my eye a couple of times so of course had to try it. I’m always on the watch for vintage recipes, especially for inspiration.
The flavor combos are endless, you might use lemon pudding with vanilla ice cream in a gram cracker or vanilla wafer crust.

I froze mine using an old trick I covered the ice cream pie with a piece of waxed paper when you’re trying to refreeze ice cream it works well to keep the crystals from forming on the ice cream (pictured above). Cover with aluminum foil to prevent freezer burn.
freeze ice cream pie up to four hours to get a really firm ice cream then set out 15 minutes before you serve.
More ideas:
Add chocolate sauce to your pie crust before adding the filling, then drizzle the chocolate sauce over top of the ice cream pie.
