Cherry & Orange Baked Ham Recipe

Notes:

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Baking time: depends on weight of ham

Makes: 1 1/2 Cup of glaze

𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚍𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜

  • 5-7 pound fully cooked ham

  • 1 can (21 ounce) cherry pie filling

  • 1 Cup orange marmalade

  • 1 Tablespoon Sherry flavoring

  • 1/4 Cup fresh orange juice - fresh orange juice recipe below

  • 1 sliced orange - optional

  • Fresh rosemary- optional

𝚍𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜

  1. Bake ham according to the directions on ham.

  2. Thirty minutes before ham is done, remove from oven.

  3. Pouring any drippings from pan.

  4. Score top fat surface lightly in a diamond pattern.

  5. Using a strainer strain cherries from the glaze and set them cherries aside.

  6. Mix together glaze (from cherries) marmalade, sherry flavoring and orange juice.

  7. Pour glaze over the ham basting frequently.

  8. Continue baking ham for 30 minutes or until done.

  9. Garnish ham with cherries, orange slices and fresh rosemary sprigs on top for a festive look.

To store a leftover ham, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and place it in an airtight container or a resealable food storage bag.

Place it in the refrigerator and use it within three to four days for best results.
